A little about me
I am a therapist trained in Transactional Analysis, and am a fully accredited and registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). Since completing my diploma in 2010 I have worked both privately and at a sixth form college in the UK (2010-2016).
As well as being a therapist, I am an avid walker, musician, swimmer and yogi.
I currently practice from my home in Adelaide, and meet clients both here and in the surrounding parks to walk and talk.
Anna's wisdom and patience to guide me through a difficult time of burnout and clinical depression have been amazing. Through her professional and skilled approach, mixed with down to earth pragmatism and sense of humour, she has enabled me to reflect, think through, learn and come to terms with both past and present issues, to make some difficult but important decisions, to become more self-aware and to come to a place where I have been able to now move forward in a more healthy way. What To Expect
Your initial 45 minute meeting is an opportunity for us both to see if we would like to work together. In it we will discuss what has led you to come for therapy, as well as what you would like to get from it. We will then create a contract around our work together.
The initial sessions will take place in the therapy room, even if subsequent sessions are walk and talk sessions rather than therapy room sessions.
All subsequent sessions after our initial meeting will be of 55 minutes duration.
The frequency of sessions will be agreed between us, and we will discuss the appropriate length of therapy for you as we go along.
WALK AND TALK
Walk and Talk sessions will begin from either my therapy room or a designated meeting point, such as park gates or a car park at the prearranged time. Unless otherwise discussed, these sessions are also of 55 minutes duration.
Walk and Talk is a kind of session that suits some people and not others. Some people enjoy the space and movement, and find that it helps them think in ways that they could not have in a chair. Others find the lack of complete privacy difficult when they are working through problems, or discussing things which are very confronting or challenging for them emotionally. Clients are free to mix and match sessions in the room and Walk and Talk sessions. It is a personal choice for each and every client.
I abide by the ethical framework of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP).
I will respect your right to privacy and confidentiality. This trust is fundamental in our work together.
We will discuss the confidentiality agreement in depth in our first session.
Your initial 45 minute consult is free.
My usual fee for each subsequent 55 minute session is $90.
Please note that couples sessions are 1 hour, 25 minutes and charged at $150 per session.
You can pay by cash, cheque or electronic transfer.
For those who would otherwise be unable to afford therapy, I am able to offer a limited number of places at a negotiated rate.
